Synopsis for "The Chained Coffin"
At the B.P.R.D. headquarters in Fairfield, Connecticut, Abe Sapien read a letter from Hellboy that revealed the latter was visiting East Bromwich. Hellboy also revealed that he slept at the ruins of a church and dreamt of an old woman praying for forgiveness on her deathbed. The woman ordered her two children to lay her in a coffin and secure her with chains, claiming that her devil would come for her, although his claim to her would be broken after three nights.
As Hellboy approached the chained coffin, windows shattered simultaneously before a large demon appeared. The woman's two children attempted to keep the demon away from the coffin, although he killed them both before breaking her out of her coffin and claimed that the child she had conceived on Walpurgisnacht years earlier was still inside of her. Hellboy finished his letter by mentioning that the demon looked at him.
